Accepting web-based payments

We are thinking of accepting web-based payments, for greater customer convenience. However, somewhat concerned about Paypal problems written about here. Please could anyone recommend safer alternatives?

Are two more :) Protx is much more lightweight though, i'd recommend them... plus RBS WP seem to hold onto money longer too.
