Hi,
We have a subscription service to our club, members can pay monthly or annually. We've set this up with Paypal but it's starting to become an issue for us. Paypal sends everyone a receipt each month which details ways of cancelling (thanks guys) and, once a debit or credit card expires, the subscription expires, whether the members wants it to our not.

Can anyone recommend any alternatives to Paypal ? We'd prefer a system that acts on a direct debit basis, with the membership fee being paid direct from a bank account.

Thanks !

I believe that the merchant accounts linked with a PSP can offer a recurring payments service each month. Try someone like Protx.

Worldpay have something called Future Pay for recurring payments. You could always use direct debits.

As I understand it there are some signifcant hoops you need to jump through to set up direct debits with the banks (correct me if I'm wrong). There are companies who can act as intermediaries but we need this to be as electronic as possible with good reporting systems. We're looking at all options at the moment though so thanks for the tips.

You need a payment getaway and a CMS that allows monthly payments (subscriptions). Magento (ecommerce OS solution) can also sell subscriptions, perhaps you should dig into it :)
