Afternoon all!

A post really aimed at those of you with businesses with cars as part of their assets. How do you purchase your cars?

I am a broker and this isn't a free ad for us.

What I am trying to establish though is whether you shop around for cars or let staff sort their own out. I say this as i have become aware recently that a lot of local authorities and large companies put their car buying out to tender - for example, ABC Ltd needs 5 x family saloons, minimum wheelbase length x mm, must be dual-fuel etc etc.

Are any of you aware of this tendering? And if so, who do you suggest I approach.

I have quoted a City Council for a 'New Saloon Car for the Mayor for use in Civic Duties and Visits' and came 2nd out of 5 quotes. Not bad for my first time. Just struggling to find any more opportunities online though. Any suggestions??

Any suggestion appreciated.

Regards,

Simon

Hi Simon

Our only car bought through the company is mine and I used a broker online and ended up saving over £60 per month against the best quote I could get from a dealer.

In fact I used 2 online brokers, wh came in within £10 per month of each other, and managed to get a few extras thrown in.

I would have thought that, unless a company has someone very experienced and who are buying a lot of cars, they are wasting their time not using a broker - but I guess a lot of them think there is a better deal just around the corner - if only they could find it.

Good luck

Graham
